Thrilled to be a finalist in the Queensland Multi Media Awards for ‘Best CMS Website’ with www.whitsundaycalling.com.au !
Winners will be announced in Cairns next month.
With previous winners also finalists this year it will be a tough field to beat, so in true cliche form, it really *is* a thrill to be a finalist and be amongst a strong field of respected designers.

Whitsunday Calling Music Festival

Share this post

We designed and created the artwork and website for the inaugural 2 day camping Music Festival Whitsunday Calling which went live today.
It’s an exciting festival and one we are proud to be involved with, keeping music alive and bringing quality acts from far and wide to perform.
Profits from the event will be given back to the community with a local charity in the process of being set up (the Whitsunday Community Relief Fund). Gig posters with full lineup will be rolled out shortly. Acts include ‘Ash Grunwald’, ‘Katchafire’ and legends ‘The Angels’, supergroup ‘The Dynosaurs’ (with members from AC/DC, Choirboys, The Angels and Hush) and a few surprise legends to be confirmed soon (see the website for tbc list).

Community Radio – Rabbit Radio Logo

Share this post

Rabbit Radio based on the gold coast is an independent community station;
“Connecting the thriving cultural community of the Gold Coast via a cross platform media outlet”. As a way to promote and get the community involved they opened up the creation of their logo to the public with some notable designers getting in the mix. Rabbit will operate from the arts district so a crafty, handmade and approachable style was chosen for my contribution (on the left). Unfortunately put together on the last day of submissions, a heavier stroke is something I wanted to explore further (abandoned works in progress on the right) but simply ran out of time.

Australian INfront – Visual Response Entry – “Native”

Share this post

Full details on visual response #6 can be found here
I remember when my interest in graphic design began, when the internet was dominated by webrings (remember those?) and google wasn’t a verb. Thankfully too as it lead me to an Australian site (wow a cool site but Australian made? unheard of!) whose pages and forum were a source of inspiration and continue to be.
Their most recent visual response had the theme of ‘native’ to be interpreted as you like and the exhibition is this Thursday (17th) at Lo-Fi, Sydney (details here) the entries are beautiful, prizes are a bonus and I’m sad not to be in the city to see them. Below is my entry.
